Minimalist, moody, and unmistakably modern. This portrait of Bernard Sumner captures the emotional pulse of Blue Monday against the backdrop of its legendary 12" die-cut sleeve. Rendered in icy monochrome with flashes of electric blue, Sumner’s performance is frozen mid-expression, framed by the geometric strip that once mimicked a floppy disk and redefined sleeve art. The abstract shapes hum with synth tension, echoing the track’s hypnotic rhythm and machine made heartbreak.
Part of Pip’s 80s Synthpop Part II Collection, this canvas celebrates New Order’s fusion of post punk soul and electronic precision, where silence speaks volumes and design becomes music.

Bernard Sumner, New Order - Blue Monday (Canvas Prints)
This print is reproduced from Pip's original hand painted acrylic artwork. It is brought to life on a premium canvas giclée print, designed to showcase every detail with rich depth and vibrant colours. The work is one of a series of 10 paintings from Wirral based artist Pip that form the ‘Eighties Synthpop Part II’ collection.
Canvas prints are available in 4 sizes:
- Small 12" x 12" (30cm x 30cm)
- Medium 20" x 20" (50cm x 50cm)
- Large 28" x 28" (70cm x 70cm)
- Extra Large 40" x 40" (100cm x 100cm).
The artwork is printed on to a high quality poly-cotton blend canvas that is wrapped around a thick wooden pine frame that sits off the wall. The print image wraps around the sides of the frame so is perfect to hang straight on to the wall without framing.
Alternatively choose to add a black or white floater frame that create a striking 'floating' effect, giving the art an elegant, modern touch.
Please note that some of the images are provided for illustrative purposes to show how the canvas print is constructed. The actual shipped print will use the specific painting of the selected product ordered.
