Still and spectral, this portrait of Ian Curtis captures the quiet storm at the heart of Joy Division. His contemplative pose, hand to chin, eyes lost in thought, radiates a fragile strength, while the marbled backdrop of reds, oranges, and blacks swirls like emotion barely contained. The high contrast rendering gives his figure a ghostlike clarity, echoing the raw vulnerability and poetic depth of his lyrics.
Pip’s tribute doesn’t just depict Curtis, it reverberates with him. A canvas that feels like silence before the break, memory before the fade.
🕯 Love will tear us apart, but this image holds him together.
Ian Curtis, Joy Division (Canvas Prints)
This print is reproduced from Pip's original hand painted acrylic artwork. It is brought to life on a premium canvas giclée print, designed to showcase every detail with rich depth and vibrant colours. The work is one of a series of 10 paintings from Wirral based artist Pip that form the ‘Eighties Goth’ collection.
Canvas prints are available in 4 sizes:
- Small 12" x 12" (30cm x 30cm)
- Medium 20" x 20" (50cm x 50cm)
- Large 28" x 28" (70cm x 70cm)
- Extra Large 40" x 40" (100cm x 100cm).
The artwork is printed on to a high quality poly-cotton blend canvas that is wrapped around a thick wooden pine frame that sits off the wall. The print image wraps around the sides of the frame so is perfect to hang straight on to the wall without framing.
Alternatively choose to add a black or white floater frame that create a striking 'floating' effect, giving the art an elegant, modern touch.
Please note that some of the images are provided for illustrative purposes to show how the canvas print is constructed. The actual shipped print will use the specific painting of the selected product ordered.
