Wild haired, wide eyed, and wrapped in shadow. This Robert Smith portrait captures the essence of The Cure’s frontman in full expressive bloom. His spiky black hair and smeared eyeliner blaze against a marbled storm of reds, pinks, and golds, echoing the emotional chaos and romantic melancholy that defined a generation. The high contrast palette and swirling background evoke both vulnerability and defiance, while his stark pose and crimson lips anchor the piece in gothic iconography.
Pip’s tribute transforms post punk poetry into pop art drama. A must have for fans of The Cure, goth culture, and art that bleeds feeling and style.

Robert Smith, The Cure (Canvas Prints)
This print is reproduced from Pip's original hand painted acrylic artwork. It is brought to life on a premium canvas giclée print, designed to showcase every detail with rich depth and vibrant colours. The work is one of a series of 10 paintings from Wirral based artist Pip that form the ‘Eighties Goth’ collection.
Canvas prints are available in 4 sizes:
- Small 12" x 12" (30cm x 30cm)
- Medium 20" x 20" (50cm x 50cm)
- Large 28" x 28" (70cm x 70cm)
- Extra Large 40" x 40" (100cm x 100cm).
The artwork is printed on to a high quality poly-cotton blend canvas that is wrapped around a thick wooden pine frame that sits off the wall. The print image wraps around the sides of the frame so is perfect to hang straight on to the wall without framing.
Alternatively choose to add a black or white floater frame that create a striking 'floating' effect, giving the art an elegant, modern touch.
Please note that some of the images are provided for illustrative purposes to show how the canvas print is constructed. The actual shipped print will use the specific painting of the selected product ordered.
